Eastern Sierra Cancer Alliance is an all-volunteer, charitable organization headquartered in Bishop, California.  ESCA aids residents of Inyo and Mono Counties who are victims of any kind of cancer by providing resources, including money, to assist them in battling cancer.  We partner with Northern Inyo Healthcare District to reach those in need, providing all manner of assistance.

Through our Cancer Resource Center and our monthly Cancer Conversations Support Group, we offer education about cancer, moral support to patients, assistance filling out forms, and offer referral information to other entities who can also provide support.  Available at the center are a selection of wigs, head scarves, and mastectomy bras for no charge, plus a sympathetic ear and emotional support.

In 2019 we started the Angel Mentor program, matching up former cancer patients with newly diagnosed cancer patients, offering the patient an opportunity for a one-on-one relationship with someone who has walked that path before.  Our Angel Mentors attend regular training sessions to ensure that they provide the best support possible.

Our high desert community is remotely located, and cancer patients are almost always required to travel hundreds of miles to receive specialized treatment, causing the cost of being a cancer patient to exceed that of those who live in metropolitan areas.  We grant monetary assistance for travel and medical expenses, even rent or utilities to cancer patients.  We use our fundraising events as opportunities to raise public awareness of cancer and to promote healthy habits.
